Music Festival Awards and Trophies

The following awards may be presented at the Finale for the Festival. 

2009 Awards and Trophies Winners

Bel Canto Cup for the best vocal solo 11 years and under

Rive Gauche Cup for the best vocal solo 12-15 years old

Hope Cup for the best vocal solo 16 years old or older

The Mayor’s Cup for the winner of the Junior School Choir classes

Alan Howorth Memorial Cup for the best choir

Katrina Blandy Cup for the best piano solo not in an Open class from a performer who has not previously won a piano solo class at Marlow Music Festival

TVP Junior Piano Cup for the best piano solo 11 years old or younger (not in a recital)

Ione Constanduros Trophy for the best ensemble

Lisa Childs Cup for the advanced solo performance with the highest mark other than an advanced recital   This cup was awarded for the first time in 2008.

Moston Cup for the winner of the Junior Piano Recital

Rawlings Cup for the winner of the Intermediate Piano Recital

Francki Cup for the most outstanding piano performance 12-18 old (not in a recital)

Doroszkowski Cup for the winner of the Advanced Piano Recital

Valerie Childs Cup for the winner of the Open Piano Recital

Katrina Blandy Cup for the best piano solo not in an Open class from a performer who has not previously won a piano solo class at Marlow Music Festival and who has not won another award

Representative chosen from the Piano classes to go forward to compete for the Emanuel Trophy Piano Competition and £300 cash prize at the North London Music Festival in the following year.

Sir Keith Stuart Cup for the most promising pianist.

Lucero Cup for the best violin or viola solo

Maritz Cup for the best non violin or viola string solo

Tony Buzan Cup for the best wind solo 11 years old or younger.

Burnham Cup for the best wind solo

Ione Constanduros Trophy for the best piano ensemble.

Rivermusik Composition Cup for the most outstanding composition 20 years old or younger.

John Spink Trophy for overall promise and achievement in the Festival.

Waitrose Trophy for the best performance in the Festival
